Abel arrived as a tiny, desperately sick lamb, fragile and fighting for every breath. He was so weak that he needed round-the-clock care, so he lived in the house for months, wrapped in blankets, surrounded by love, and getting the kind of attention only a lamb determined to survive could inspire.
During those early months, Mike gave him the nickname “Godzilla”, not because he was big, but to make him strong. To give him the spirit and the fight he needed to pull through. And slowly, day by day, he did.
All those hours spent lying on the couch, being held, talked to, and cared for shaped Abel into one of the most social animals at the sanctuary. He absolutely loves meeting new people. He’ll walk right up, get inches from your face, stare into your eyes, and gently nuzzle you as if he’s greeting an old friend he already knows.
Today, Abel lives in the sheep barn with 42 other sheep, finally able to live as the sheep he was meant to be. He has a distinctive little walk, a reminder of what he overcame, and a personality that fills every space he enters. He is living proof that compassion can turn a life around.
This ornament honors Abel’s journey; from a weak, sick lamb with no chance… to a thriving, joyful soul surrounded by his flock.
When you place Abel on your Christmas tree, he becomes more than a decoration.
He’s a reminder of resilience, of second chances, of the power of love and of all the animals still waiting for theirs.
Hang Abel on your tree as a promise:
Every life matters. Every life deserves a chance. And kindness changes everything.
