Bubba’s story began the day a stack of plastic transport crates fell off the back of a slaughter-bound truck. The driver never noticed. The truck kept going. And in that moment, 160 birds were left on the side of the road, terrified, injured, and suddenly given a chance at life.

We received the call and brought every one of them home to the sanctuary.

And among all 160 souls, one immediately made himself known.

Bubba.

From the start, he carried a presence that felt familiar, calm, aware, and deeply connected. He wasn’t just a survivor; he was a being who felt like we had known him before. At the sanctuary, he revealed a rare depth, the kind that certain animals seem born with: a quiet intelligence, a gentle strength, a spirit that touches everyone who meets him.

This ornament honors Bubba’s life and the miracle of his rescue, a reminder that every crate, every truck, every transport holds individuals, each one deserving of safety, love, and freedom.
